The Challenge
Shortly after TSA Carry-on Regulations were imposed in 2006, Linda Padgett-Stinson, frequent traveler and founder of The Clear Bag System™, found herself frustrated and confused at the check-in line in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. TSA guidelines had just come out and even seasoned travelers were still learning the rules.
"I was trying to put all my personal items on the conveyer belt, my things were falling out of a plastic zip-top bag, and people behind me were getting very frustrated,” said Linda. “It was very embarrassing and inconvenient."
The Idea
Linda decided that there had to be a better way to meet TSA Carry-on Regulations and still travel with a sense of dignity. She created several prototypes and worked diligently with the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) to develop the first 311 Travel Bag in 2007. The name 311 was inspired by TSA Carry-on Regulations that require passengers to put all liquids or gels into a 3 fl. oz. container using 1 qt. size bag and limited to 1 carry-on per person.
